<![CDATA[SDA (Société de Distribution Aéroportuaire), a joint venture of ADP and Lagardère Travel Retail, has called upon Hub One, the digital technologies operator for businesses, for the digitalisation of its network of stores in the Paris airport zones, so that it can offer travellers a connected purchasing experience.
With the ambition of creating « the ultimate moment of Paris shopping », SDA wanted to optimise the connectivity of its stores in the duty-free zones and harmonise the services proposed for greater fluidity. This project is designed to meet the expectations of connected customers who have only little time to devote to shopping when passing through the airport. Reducing waiting times, facilitating payment, offering closer relations with the sales staff while guaranteeing travel security: these are priority aspects for SDA.
Backed by its expertise in telecommunications and its experience of the airport environment, Hub One has:
–         implemented 4 new Wi-Fi terminals to develop network coverage in the Group’s stores;
–         provided sales staff in the stores with tablets;
– put in place a video surveillance system with the installation of five cameras.
By reinforcing the Wi-Fi infrastructure of SDA, Hub One enables the Group to propose mobile payment solutions to travellers, thus reducing the queues at checkout. Also, thanks to the new tablets, sales staff can better inform and advise customers, all in a climate of security via the video surveillance cameras, alerting to any suspicious behaviour.
Furthermore, Hub One has installed a VPN* along with a Managed LAN network in the SDA stores, with the purpose of optimising the IT infrastructure of the Group.
To date, the solution proposed by Hub One has been installed in the SDA stores of Hall K at Terminal 2E in Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, and is due in the medium term to be extended to the duty-free zones of other halls at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle, and in the new terminal at Paris-Orly.
« Offering visitors an ultimate moment of Paris shopping before they take off was a priority for us, » declares Guy Bodescot, SDA CEO. « The professionalism, proximity and agility of the Hub One teams quickly won us over. Furthermore, the proposed technological solutions perfectly addressed our issues: combining connectivity with quality services to satisfy the expectations of our ever-increasingly connected customers. »
« We are delighted to support SDA with our expertise in the fields of telecoms, airport and retail. Digitalisation is at the heart of the corporate and point-of-sale strategies for optimising the purchase path and offering consumers quality connected services, » says Guillaume de Lavallade, CEO, Hub One.
