most famous hiking routes –

As part of its team-building program, Hub One, provider of information and communication technology services in professional environments, is organising its second Hub Challenge of the year: the Ultra Hub Tour, a hike/trail-run around Mont Blanc, passing through France, Italy and Switzerland. A new challenge aimed at encouraging team bonding and going that extra mile awaits the participants, who will be standard-bearers of our company values: commitment, solidarity and boldness.

From 21 to 29 July, the Hub One employees will be embarking on this 6-day race that crosses France, Italy and Switzerland. They will have to run and hike a total distance of 170 km, climbing a total of 10,000 m at a steady pace. With a typical day beginning with wake-up alarm at 5:30 AM, followed by hiking from 6:45 AM to 7 PM, and with only 45 minutes lunch-break, physical and mental commitment is demanded from all the participants.
This new edition of the Hub Challenge, dubbed the “Ultra Hub Tour”, is a true sporting challenge but also features a strong charitable dimension, with the 14 employees offering their support to the Team Rederien association in the financing of a Joëlette trekking chair (one-wheel wheelchair for tracking and hiking) or a Hippocampe Marathon wheelchair. Calculated using a charity meter, the amount collected will represent the sum of the kilometres covered by all participants during the challenge, to the value of one euro per kilometre and one euro per 100 m climbed. The objective is to collect between €4000 and €5000 to allow a disabled child to satisfy his or her passion for sport. This race will also have a CSR component, since the participants will be picking up litter that clutters the magnificent landscapes of the TMB trail.
This kind of effort requires supreme preparation. The participants have therefore benefited ahead of the event from a special training programme, involving 3 to 4 outings per week, and comprising basic endurance and muscular reinforcement, along with specific exercises to prep the body for the significant change in altitude over the course of the event.
An online tool on the Hub Challenge Facebook page will also be put in place for real-time tracking of the participants. Their progress will be updated daily to display the path taken by the team on a map, along with the kilometres covered and the metres climbed each day.
“We conceived the Ultra Hub Tour both as a sporting challenge but also as a challenge to encourage individuals to look within themselves and go that extra mile, against the background of superb landscapes, all with a sense of social solidarity and in total harmony with the environment. Every year, Hub One offers its employees the possibility of taking on a challenge and having an unforgettable time, and we are particularly proud of initiating projects such as this one, and in this way sharing our passion,”, declares Jean-Félix Chevassu, one of the backers of the project and Business Support director at Hub One.

The Ultra Hub Tour was able to be organised with thanks in particular to the following sponsors:
