Hub One deploys a temperature monitoring solution for SDA

<![CDATA[SDA (Société de Distribution Aéroportuaire), a joint venture of ADP and Lagardère Travel Retail, has called upon Hub One, the digital technologies operator for businesses, for monitoring the temperature of its network of stores in the Paris airport zones.
SDA wanted to be able to monitor and regulate the temperature of its various stores to improve the comfort of its customers in the sales areas, optimise the management of its sensitive products (perfumes, cosmetics, food goods), and minimise product losses in refrigerated zones. Notifying of temperature changes, logging temperature variations and accessing data from any type of equipment (PC, smartphone, tablet) were priority functions for the Group.
To meet the needs of SDA, Hub One deployed, on a trial basis, a bespoke solution by placing IoT-type sensors in one of the Group’s stores: three sensors were installed in the refrigerators, three in the sales areas and one at the cold water arrival point.
SDA can be alerted directly about the temperature of the various spaces in its store, fitted with the Hub One sensors, and anticipate possible interventions by its maintenance technicians, with email and text message alerts being sent to signal each variation in temperature. Thanks to a display interface that is regularly updated with the data, SDA has access to a detailed log. This Hub One solution allows SDA to monitor the temperature of its sales areas to improve the comfort of its customers while maintaining its products in optimum temperature conditions.
Furthermore, the IoT solution deployed by Hub One in the context of this trial is a scalable one. New sensors capable of obtaining information via complementary networks (3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, RFID…) could be installed to satisfy the needs and uses of SDA.
Hub One has supported SDA from the installation of the sensors through to the implementation of the data-processing interface, and has taken care of the solution’s connectivity.
“Guaranteeing the well-being of our customers in our stores and keeping our stock in good conditions all year round are imperatives for us,” says Guy Bodescot, CEO of SDA. “The innovative temperature monitoring solution based on IoT proposed by Hub One perfectly meets these requirements and allows us to optimise the necessary maintenance actions.”
“Supporting SDA in transforming its mode of monitoring temperatures represents for us a real testimony of trust in what we do. This trial has been a resounding success and to date there are more than 200 sensors now active. This project perfectly illustrates our technological and field skills, and how we put this expertise to work for our customers to offer them bespoke solutions meeting their expectations,” says Guillaume de Lavallade, Hub One CEO.
